Hooray for Friday! Today’s book of the day is Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng! Check out her second novel about secrets, the danger of thinking “following the rules can avert disaster,” and town feuds. What will you be reading this weekend? 

Ready to cozy in for the night? Grab a glass of rosé or your favorite wine, a blanket and sink into a good read. These are just a few of our favorite chic-lit titles. Sarah has a particular soft spot for Bridget Jones. In real life, she's almost certain she and Bridget would be best friends. Do you have a favorite author or book in this genre? 

Today's book of the day is The Rules Do Not Apply by Ariel Levy. Read this breathtaking memoir as "Levy chronicles the adventure and heartbreak of being, in her own words​, "a woman who is free to do whatever she chooses."

So we are starting a new segment for the podcast called "Conversations." These episodes will feature various topics, whether it's podcasts, current issues, other books we're reading and much much more. We may not all be in the episode together and we might even have special guests! For our first one, Sarah and I talk about some of our favorite and newly discovered true-crime podcasts. This one got a little bit away from us but only because we could talk podcasts for hours. That's no joke you guys. But we promise in the future to try and keep these to 30-40 minutes. As promised in the episode, here are all the podcasts we talked about if you want to check them out. If you like true crime stories, then you definitely should. Apologies in advance for probably getting some things wrong or pronouncing names wrong. Happy Friday! Today's #book of the day is The Assistants by Camille Perri. A fun debut novel about a young woman "whose embezzlement scam turns her into an unlikely advocate for the leagues of over-educated and underpaid assistants" across Manhattan. Have you read it? Thoughts?

Today's book of the day is a middle grade read by Grace Lin. Inspired by folktales her father has told her, Minli goes on an extraordinary adventure, encountering all sorts of characters and creatures, to ask the Old Man on the Moon how she can change her family's fortune. 

"Everyone has their own personal velocity." Check out today's book of the day about six women, at various stages in their lives who struggle with their sexuality, motherhood, fate and their will to survive. The stories are raw, beautifully written and will leave you wanting more. 

Happy Friday! Today's book of the day is Lolly Willowes by Sylvia Townsend Warner. It's about a woman who rejects society's standards for a single woman and escapes to find her freedom and even makes some unexpected alliances along the way. We can't wait to read this!
