About

Hey, thanks for stopping by!

We are your hosts - Gina, Sarah & Jade and we are the ladies behind The Librarians Suggest!

Each month we will be reading books that are 250 pages or less and discussing them in a monthly podcast episode. At least that's the plan for now.

In between, we'll discuss whatever else we are reading and share some other bookish content.

Keep reading if you want to learn a little more about each of us and thanks again for joining us on our reading adventures.

Sarah O'Brien (In-House Children's Librarian): A California girl at heart, Sarah has lived in Indiana, New York and spent quite a few summers living in Maine as well. Despite growing up in the middle of nowhere - a Podunk farm town you've never heard of, this small town girl had an eye for travel very early in life. Graduating from an all women's college in the heart of the Midwest, Sarah earned her B.A. in History and Anthropology, moved to New York City and found herself spending a lot of time with Patience and Fortitude leading to a passion in Children's Literature. After moving back to California, she went on to earn her Masters in Library and Information Science at San Jose State and worked her way from being a volunteer to running the children's room at the local library. Besides doing bookish things, Sarah is a writer, book reviwer and contributor to several blogs and runs way too many social media accounts. And if she's not reading or writing, you can find her at the newest restaurant in town, checking out the latest art gallery, listening to podcasts, watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on repeat and living with two cats.

Jade Valenzuela (Adult Services Librarian): Jade is a Southern California girl through and through. While she enjoys the cold and bundling up, she could never handle living somewhere where it snows. Plus she breaks out in hives when she gets too cold. (It's not pretty). Jade earned her B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Redlands (Go Dawgs!) and after learning that she couldn't spend days in a lab, she moved back home and decided to go to San Jose State University and get her Masters in Library and Information Science. She works with Sarah and Gina at the same local library and is the Reference/Adult Services Librarian. If she's not reading, she's crocheting and listening to podcasts, watching sports or cuddling up with her dog, Lava.

Gina Dryer: (Teen Services Librarian)
